"Go ahead, dream big," they liked to tell you.
"Send your hopes up to the sky."
They told you that whatever you believed in,
Those happy thoughts in the back of your brain,
It could all be true if only you believed.
That's all they said you needed to do, right?
To believe it was possible?
Sure, there were also mentions of hard work,
Mentions of putting in effort.
But every time, you were told to believe.
And you believed with all your heart.
Your dreams were larger than the earth itself
Stretching and growing far out of ordinary grasp.
And you worked hard too.
You wanted that dream more than anything.
You longed for the happy future it offered.
But there's a problem with large dreams.
You see, the bigger your dreams are,
And the more time and effort you invest in them,
The more it hurts when it all comes crashing down.

If I Met Markiplier
We meet at last
You are YOU
I am no one
to be remembered
Merely one of
countless thousands
to have had the honor
To you it is nothing really
all in a days work
To me it is everything
A dream come true
A warm smile, a handshake
It is done
Your parade moves on
The pedestal gleaming
All in a days work as you
smile tiredly at the next fan
Heaven can not compare
Thinks I
The daydream over
I move to the mundane
It was Heaven while it lasted

Letter to Markiplier
Dear Mark,
Well I guess a friendly letter should always start out with telling you who I am…Hello I’m Morgan. I’m a ‘fangirl’ just like all the rest I suppose…but hey I’m not afraid to admit that. I’m a ‘Fangirl’ of you for many good reasons. Though I don’t like to bring up the things that make us sad I do wish to say that our lives run on a few very prominent parallels. One of the parallels I speak of is one I hate the most…I know the feeling of helplessness when those who are closest to you are on the verge of death and there is nothing you can do. I was

I remember being in elementary school and the first time I saw the motivational phrase "aim for the moon, if you miss, you'll land among the stars" ...even as a little kid I immediately saw that sort of phrasing as doing more harm than good.
As an adult, I think "aim for the moon, if you miss, you might hurdle endlessly throughout space" is more accurate. xD
Although on the other hand, having dreams can be useful as long as you have the temperance to accept that it might not work out or that you might need to alter your goals or change your tactics. But as a kid, they focus on telling you about the dreams part a lot, and not so much teaching you the "here's how to deal with making mistakes or failing" part.
