Kill the Piece

I'm not saying that I want to die
Or that I no longer want to try
Or that I've come to no longer care
And that I want to stop breathing air.
The only thing that I wish
Out of everything that's brought me to this
Is to kill the part of myself that I hate,
The part that's brought me to this miserable fate.
But the problem with seeking to kill a piece
Is that on the rest of my soul it did feast
And it festered and spread all throughout
Till traces could be seen all about.
And it drowned the good till little remained.
The evil within has become my bane.
To kill a part is to kill the whole.
So long my poor, corrupted soul.
